SmugMug site. I was having a problem getting my SmugMug galleries to post

And finally, I removed the Popular Photos section because photo ranking is

The FP conversion broke all my mouse-over JavaScript (Mainly in the
Japan travelogue) so I had to go back and
fix those. In the process, I upsized the photos a bit since that is
something that I've wanted to do for a while now. |

Five months have passed since my last update, and many events, some life-changing, have taken place
for me during that period. However, to cut
to the chase, I have returned and am now ready to get back to work.
I don't often use this update page for personal events, but I think it is
warranted in this case.
- I have retired from my old job of 26 years and accepted a new job as
an IT trainer.
- My son and I took a two week trip to Japan that included climbing
Mt. Fuji and a visit to Akihabara among other things. I will be posting the 800+ photos
and travelogue of
that trip soon.
- I had some medical issues that have now been resolved, but did take
up time and resources.
- After 12 years of using FrontPage and FP extensions, I have finally
converted my site to
CSS using
DWTs (sort of... ^_^;). This was a
huge undertaking, with several false starts, involving changes to almost
800 pages of web content. Yes, the site looks (or should look)
unchanged, but now I can start updating and upgrading my site in earnest
where, for the last year, it was a struggle every time I wanted to post
even a minor update.
- In the end, the major changes took about 3 days of effort, with most
of the donkey work getting done with this jewel of jewels wonderful
tool, the
Search and Replace for Windows. Before acquiring this simple yet
powerful app, I was completely daunted by the extensive manual editing
that needed to be done.
- Due to all of the above, I've only attended Metrocon 2008 during
this five month period, of which I will soon post a report.
- My next convention will be Megacon 2009, end of February. By the
time that happens, I hope to have every past report completed in all
respects and I'll be ready to start fresh in 2009.
