While I was taking cosplay photos, Josh
was checking out the Tea Ceremony and Kimono demonstration. After a few
quick text messages back and forth, I came over to join him.
The particular style of bow being tied on
the young lady's obi above is the Fukura suzume (sparrow style). According
the the narrator, this style of formal kimono and obi would be worn by a
married woman.
Below, we have an example of a formal
kimono for a man, which includes the hakama pants and haori jacket.
For women, the sash is worn around the
waist. For men, it is worn against the hips. |
