JACON 7 Cosplay 2006
|
The big event for Friday night was Wasabi
Anime's Animusical. Since I was sitting in the mid-section with Pete and
Adam, I decided to forgo photos this time around and just enjoy the show.
However, you can find a sample clip
here
and photos at
AnimeBelle's site.
I have to say that I enjoyed the show
immensely. It's like anime skits gone Broadway. There was a cast of 20 and
over a hundred costumes worn throughout the show. I swear, if this came out
on DVD, I would buy it in a shot. |

While browsing Artist Alley, I ran across
the booth operated by
Jared Hodges &
Lindsay Cibos, the authors of the American manga,
Peach Fuzz.
Since I'm such a geek myself, I could not
resist purchasing a copy of Geek Nokiko from their line of
character designs. |

The gaming room was spacious and had a
wide assortment of video games to play. |

Above are the video rooms. This was an
excellent layout, with all of the various choices laid out in a single hall
where you could easily check out the various fare. Pete and I encountered an
intriguing series called
Trinity
Blood that had recently been licensed. I will be looking forward to this
one once it is released in the states. |

Until now, I had considered Anime Express
as the only outdoor convention, but JACON had some similar activities. Below
was a dodge-ball game in progress, which seems to have become a popular sport
to hold at anime conventions. Above, was an enormous line stretching outside
the building to watch the AMV contest. |
